Do you have a digital camera with so many functions, features, and controls that you have no idea where to begin?  Do you leave your camera on "Auto" and hope for the best?  Are you frustrated when your picture doesn't turn out how you envisioned it?

This workshop is designed to help you understand and comprehend the world of digital photography.  Beginner, novice or experienced, it doesn't matter.  Our goal is to provide you with practical knowledge on the principles of photography and camera operations in such a way that's not complicated...but makes it fun!

Recommended Equipment:

  • Camera with Aperture / Shutter / Manual shooting modes
  • Charged battery for camera
  • Memory card
  • User manual for camera

Topics discussed will include:

  • Camera features, controls, & functions
  • Aperture, Shutter, & Manual shooting modes
  • Understanding light & exposure
  • Basic composition techniques

Through a series of presentations and hands-on shooting assignments, Al & Roy will help you take creative control of your camera.

To register, contact the Art Society of Strathcona County at (780) 449-4443 or via their webpage.

With over 5 decades of photographic experience to draw from, Al Dixon and Roy McLaughlin want to help you as they have helped others to better understand their camera and make the transition from snapshots to photographs.
